WHO ARE WE?

DEEGAN HOMECARE is owned and operated by Joan Deegan, the daughter -in-law of Bill and Ann Deegan (pictured). After 30 years of marriage to their son Steve, Bill was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2015, Joan was there to become a caregiver for her father-in-law. While caring for Bill, Joan realized how much she enjoyed providing care for those in our elderly community. After researching and studying, she decided she wanted to do caregiving on a bigger scale. Two years later, Joan purchased a franchise through Visiting Angels, and Deegan Homecare DBA Visiting Angels of Rome was born.
Joan began growing her company with much success and then in 2020 when Covid-19 happened our company suffered just as so many small businesses. Throughout the covid epidemic, Joan decided to buy out her contract with Visiting Angels, and we became DEEGAN HOMECARE in March 2021.
Since transitioning into Deegan Homecare our company has been voted Best of Georgia 2021 & 2022 for private duty homecare companies. In 2021, Joan won the Nationwide Registries Women of Distinction award for the determination and integrity she shows every day. Joan goes above for her clients and caregivers. She knows from personal experience how exhausting it can be to go from family member to caregiver. From working 16-hour shifts in the field to sitting with a dying client because their family was unable to be there. She wants to be simply the best because she cares.
